Why is it so hard for many people to believe the story of the birth of Christ, but they can believe and teach their children about Santa Claus? So many do not believe in Jesus at all, let alone that He was born from a virgin young woman, but they can promote the idea of Santa. According to the world system, Santa Claus delivers gifts to all children, just children, all over the world in one night every Christmas Eve. So many people choose to accept this as true even when they know that there are children and others that do not receive anything for Christmas at all. When Jesus was born, that was the gift of true love in the form of a baby. This gift is available to all people no matter how old one is, where they live, or what they have done. Jesus is available to us at any time. With Santa, one has to write him a letter in hopes that he will read it, or sit on his lap so that you can tell him what you want.
Some say that Santa knows when you are sleeping; he knows when you are awake. He knows when you’ve been bad or good. Jesus knew you before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5), and He knows the plans that He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11). Santa has elves to do his work in making toys that children want. Jesus has His angels and those that love Him to help in doing His will. The gifts that Santa gives can be easily forgotten or broken after they are received. The gift of Jesus Christ and His love has lasting value all the way to and in eternity. Santa’s gifts can only provide temporary happiness, but Jesus can provide Joy, Hope, Peace, and Unconditional Love among so many other blessings. If you choose to believe and teach children about Santa, why is it so hard to believe and teach others about the birth of Christ? The gift of Jesus is available to every single person. And the best part is that you don’t have to have a chimney for Jesus to deliver His gift—all you need is a humble heart willing to receive Him as your Savior!
Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
