Water. We wash with it. We swim in it. And yes, it is one of the key ingredients in lemonade. But most importantly we drink it. Most of the time, we drink water to satisfy our thirst. But it is impossible for just one glass of water to end ones thirst completely. However, in a spiritual sense, Jesus Christ is the living water that perfectly takes care of any longing that one may have. Life can be bitter--bitter as a sour lemon. And this is true whether you are a Christian or not. Trials and tribulations are very much a part of everyone's life, just like lemons are another vital ingredient in a simple lemonade recipe. For a follower of Christ, difficult situations have a greater purpose than just pain. They are meant to perfect us and make us more like Christ. 

Without sugar or a sweetener, you will have sour lemonade. The blessings from God 'sweeten' our Christian walk, and they help us to endure the hardships that we face. God blesses everyone in some way or the other. But His blessings, for those that love Him, are meant to draw us closer to Him and enhance our relationship with our loving Father above.
