LET'S GO!!!

Hmmm...what shall I say about embarking on a new year? First off, I already know that there'll be enough ups and downs sprinkled throughout the year like a disciplined athlete doing push-ups. And I can only imagine how many things will stay the same in my life that I was hoping would finally change. But anyway, I'm used to all that at this point. So I think 2023 can start off with a jump from the plane of mediocre living, and I can begin smooth sailing into a deeper way of living that introduces me to new horizons that I could only imagine from a more comfortable seat.

My legs may shake and my stomach may quiver as my mind fills with thoughts of PANIC and BAIL OUT NOW right before the jump as the idea of tearing away from what's familiar will have my heart beating quickly. And the jerk slightly backwards when the parachute string is pulled may be like the people in my life that desire me to continue to live in the comfort zone that has created a sense of normalcy for them. But now I understand that not jumping and not pulling the string only brings a form of death or severe injury in the near or far off future. The jump and experience before the landing may be scary, but as long as the Lord is ultimately in control and I keep my eyes open, I will be sure to see and fill my soul from a perspective that I always thought was meant only for the elite.

So this year I won't have a fancy word that will be my year long montra, and I'll spare you of an acronym of all the things I hope to achieve in the coming year. I'll just keep it simple and embrace this year with the thought of blossoming more than I did in the years past. If you're rolling with me, grab your lemonade and let's go!!!
