KEEP RUNNING

This is the number that I was supposed to wear on my back this weekend for a running event. Now, I am not a running person. And I have never signed up for such an event in my life. Matter of fact, there are t-shirts that describe my thoughts on running: "I wanted to go running but Proverbs 28:1 says 'The wicked run when no one is chasing them' so there's that..." Thankfully, there was the option to walk, so I thought that I could get some much needed exercise and support a local organization by signing up. Well, my plans were pushed aside for a more important unexpected event--but maybe next time.

If you remember, and you can always go back to it, I briefly touched on running your race with Christ in the New Year's blog. Can you believe that we're already halfway through the year?!! So, how's it going? Have you stopped running your race? Has something else distracted you? Are you slowing down? Are you unsure that it's worth it? Or, are you lost? Any race, including our spiritual race, can get dull or make us weary. But remember, the prize set before us is still worth it in the end. Keep running!! "I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." (Philippians 3:14)

And for more encouragement, I reposted the video from the New's Years blog about running your race and another one about keep going even when you can't see. I hope that they give you the push that you need to keep on going for the goal!
