Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was only 39 years old when he was murdered, but he had a dream....and his dream lives on. If you are not familiar with his "I Have a Dream" speech, I encourage you to listen to or read it sometime today. I believe that God gave Dr. King a vision and a dream, and Dr. King kept his focus on that dream and did all that he could to help fulfill it. Now that he is no longer here, it is up to us to carry out the dreams that God has given us. So, what vision has God given you? What dreams do you pray come to pass that will become part of your legacy? Yes, your legacy. The dreams that God gives are to go beyond your lifetime and reach into the generations to come. Just take it one step at a time, and remember to stay focused. If God is on your side, your dreams will surely come to pass.
And for a little more encouragement....
Girl Scouts has come out with a new cookie called Lemon-ups. They are of course lemon flavored with an encouraging message stamped on each cookie. If you are able to support a Girl Scout unit near you and you like lemon flavored snacks like I do, don't forget to check out Lemon-ups. How sweet it is to get a little encouragement :-) Psst....and they also have another cookie called Lemonades! I would just like to think that they had my blog in mind when they came up with these ;-)
