“On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22, 1973, was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states.) Churches around the United States use the day to celebrate God's gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage. Churches continue to recognize the third Sunday in January as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. In 2019, the date will be January 20." Ironically, I was born within the same year that President Reagan issued with proclamation. I am here today because of my loving parents and the provision of God. Unfortunately, there are many whose lives did not come to full fruition because of the choices of others. But with a forgiving God, there is still hope. Romans 3:23 says “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” And 1 John 1:9 states that ‘’…if we confess our sins to God, He will keep His promise and do what is right; He will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.” I do not know where you stand when it comes to the sanctity of life (Sanctity means the state of being holy, sacred, or saintly.). But if you or someone you know has made the choice to abort their child or has been affected by a love one’s choice to abort, the hope and love of Christ can cover any sin that anyone has committed.

Do you know anyone that may be pregnant and unsure of what to do? Many cities have local pregnancy centers that provide services and materials to individuals contemplating abortion, including Christian counseling. Many centers do not charge their clients and appointments are confidential. You can also contact your local center to find out ways to volunteer or make a donation. You can click the C.P.C. picture above to find out about the center in Meridian, MS, and be sure to check out the testimonies section. Beth Sharp, the director of this center, has shared her own experience with abortion, and is now being used by God in a mighty way! Please keep this center and other pregnancy centers in your prayers. And continually pray for those that may believe that abortion is the answer to their situation. God is the giver of life, and "children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him." --Psalm 127:3
